Our First Impressions
Expect plenty of chalk early — there’s a clear top four in Frazier, Beth-Center, Fort Cherry, and Eden Christian. Still, that doesn’t mean the bracket is short on storylines. Eden’s late-season slip-up put them in a brutal draw that could have them facing Frazier in the semis instead of the final.
Rochester is one of the best stories in the field, celebrating the first section title in school history. The lower half of the bracket feels balanced, and there’s room for an early upset or two if some of the middle seeds get hot.
Who Actually Has a Chance to Hoist the Trophy
Frazier, Beth-Center, Fort Cherry, and Eden Christian have separated themselves from the pack and look poised to battle for the gold.
Who Could Make a Cinderella Run to the Semis
St. Joseph has one of the most reliable setters in the class with Kate Giannetta, and that alone makes them dangerous. California could play spoiler with a legitimate shot to upset Beth-Center in Round 2, while Serra Catholic shouldn’t be overlooked — Fort Cherry can’t afford to look past them in the quarters.
