Rankings – Class AA

It’s steady at the top of Class 2A this week — but not for long. The contenders all held serve, setting the stage for a massive showdown on Oct. 16, when OLSH travels to Hopewell with the Section 1 title likely on the line. Waynesburg keeps rolling, Hopewell keeps winning, and the rest of the pack is jockeying for playoff seeding.

1 – Waynesburg

The Raiders continue to look like the team to beat, sweeping Burgettstown and taking down Brownsville in four. They’ve been remarkably consistent all season, handling business in section play and staying sharp as the postseason approaches.

2 – Hopewell

The Vikings breezed through the week with sweeps of New Brighton and Freedom, setting their sights squarely on Thursday’s home clash with OLSH. With a chance to lock up the section title, that match could be a tone-setter for their playoff run.

3 – Seton LaSalle

The Rebels picked up another solid week, going on the road to beat South Allegheny in four before sweeping Keystone Oaks. They’ve been steady and opportunistic, keeping themselves in position for a top playoff seed.

4 – OLSH

The Chargers swept Northgate before surviving a five-set scare at New Brighton. It wasn’t their cleanest performance, but they did what good teams do — find a way to win. Now, all eyes turn to Thursday’s matchup with Hopewell for section bragging rights.

5 – South Park

The Eagles keep their spot after sweeping Sto-Rox and taking down Carlynton in four. They’re playing solid volleyball and remain one of the most well-rounded teams in the classification’s second tier.

On the Fringe

Brownsville, South Allegheny, Burrell — all capable of knocking off a contender on any given night.
