Rankings – Class A

Just when it looked like Eden Christian might cruise to another section crown, Class A got flipped upside down. Fort Cherry stormed into Eden’s gym and walked out with the section title, while Frazier and Beth-Center quietly kept stacking wins of their own. With playoffs on the horizon, there’s little separation among the top four — and every match feels like it could rewrite the bracket.

1 – Frazier

The Commodores reclaim the top spot after a dominant week, taking down California in four before sweeping Trinity Christian. Behind their veteran core and trademark balance, Frazier looks locked in at just the right time — and they’ve got momentum heading into the postseason.

2 – Beth-Center

The Bulldogs keep rolling, adding sweeps over West Greene and Jefferson-Morgan. Their offense continues to hum, and their consistency has them looking like a real threat to make a deep playoff push.

3 – Fort Cherry

The Rangers delivered the statement of the season, going on the road to Eden Christian and winning in five to claim the section title. It capped a big week that also included a sweep of Burgettstown. With confidence sky-high and a battle-tested lineup, Fort Cherry has officially entered the championship conversation.

4 – Eden Christian

After weeks atop the rankings, the Warriors stumbled — first dropping a five-setter at Serra Catholic, then falling again in five to Fort Cherry at home. Still, their overall résumé keeps them in the Top 5.

5 – California

The Trojans hold steady at No. 5 after a competitive week that included a four-set loss to Frazier and a five-set battle at Belle Vernon. They’ve proven they can hang with quality teams, and remain a tough out for anyone heading into playoff time.

On the Fringe

  • Serra Catholic – Back in the mix after a five-set win over Eden proved they can beat anyone on any gven night

  • St. Joseph – Heating up late with sweeps of Leechburg and Springdale; their section title hopes are alive.

Games to Watch

  • Monday, Oct. 13 – Chartiers-Houston at Frazier

  • Monday, Oct. 13 – Waynesburg at Beth-Center

  • Thursday, Oct. 16 – Apollo-Ridge at St. Joseph – Section title could be on the line.
